We never put to much faith in membership organizations and the BBB is just one of them.
Most people think the BBB (Better Business Bureau) is a government agency but it’s not. If you pay to be a member (approx $500) a year, your status no matter how many complaints will most likely remain favorable.
If you are NOT a member, your status may read “Unsatisfactory” if you have 1 (update: 2) complaints. We have had 2 complaints in 8 years of business, and it was based on fraud. We could of resolved the issue with the BBB, but honestly we just don’t care what the BBB thinks of us or about what THEY think of other businesses.
Consumers put too much faith and respect into the BBB. The BBB is in the business of collecting fees from the very businesses they monitor. That’s like the fox guarding the hen house.
Remember, all you need to do to become a BBB member and get that very impressive, overrated BBB plaque, is to call the BBB and tell them you want to be a member. You can tell the BBB any lie you want about yourself, …they will never check it out. That’s correct! They never check it out.
