Um…. the iPod touch can’t have 3G WTF? It’s not a phone this is a false photoshopped ad…

LOL Alo I tested the iPod toch 3rd Generation…

It has a 3 Megapixel Camera, ARM Cortex Processor, Microphone built-inand PowerGX SVR GPU and also 256MB of RAM

Also the 64GB version was dropped because the costs were too high (Since they use Flash based drives 64GB flash based drives are only SSDs only and SSDs cost extremely high

Also GPS cannot be in the iPod touch because it uses Wi-Fi… and GPS would be a waste and it wasn’t on the iPdo touch I tested (though it was a early revision during Early August)

They are also droppign the 8GB version

guys the thing on da front is a camera used for webcam, but there is also 1 on da back 2 take pics with. it would b really cool 2 put in 3g so people can use features like the gps, checking email on the go, and stuff like that. but there will definetely be a new itouch this fall 09.

Its fake because

- Doesnt have notes application
- No weather application
- The bottom part where music, videos, photos and itunes icons are supposed to be greyish. It’s not

Therefore this is a facking fake.

I think it is funny how no one has mentioned that the iPod touch pictured is clearly the first generation model. You can tell by the outer rim. The first generation touches had the dull grey rim, while the second generation has the shiny stainless steel (I think that’s what it is). This ad is clearly a photoshopped fake. I am curious to know what REAL features the iPod touch 3rd generation will have though…

@ everyone…. 64GB will really take care of all your music needs? I can’t even fit my music collect on a 160GB classic! (I use my old 5G video for movies)

I wish they would take advantage of the price drop of micro SD cards! Currently 8GB=$20 16GB=$80! that would be awesome!

The touch really needs a microphone so that it can use iphone apps like shazam and do Voip

Ok… well if there was a 3g network.. How would they charge you? I mean …. At&t uses the customers plan to cover the charges. But how would they do it on an ipod touch? And i dont think they will come out with another one for a while.. sure it may have more space… but it will be like 500 – 600 dollars and i dont think its worth it if i could get the 32 for 400ish.

Why did you guys directly think it’s a camera on the front? Actually it may just be a speaker, or a microphone for some new apps coming out. Plus, apple never said on this (fake) advertisement that it would have a camera as a new feature. Personally I agree that this may just be a mock-up for future advertisement of this new iPod, and therefore the copyright of 08 may just be for this mock-up. As for the 3G its NOT only for phones 3G enables wireless communication (meaning: online networking, real time video chat, etc.). So before you assume something read up on it because it may just turn out your wrong. As for the model itself it may be that this is the new Fall ’09 release.

i find some speculations of this ‘advert’ hard to believe. as someone has said, the camera looks photoshopped. if it has a speaker like the 2nd gen, it will not have an icon for the speaker. it will simply play through the speaker when the earphones aren’t connected. i also doubt that it will have GPS as the iphone 3G doesnt even have GPS. the only way that the ipod touch will have GPS is if another iphone comes out this year with that on it. all in all i think that this advert is fake, and it is well done.

I’m guessing the launch will be in August. Personally, I wish the 64gb version would have been an obvious production model regardless of cost. I want to carry ALL my music instead of picking and choosing.

I think the 3G makes sense. No voice capability, just data. Alot of people carry a data only device for work and use for email and sms only.

With 3G you could:

-Take advantage of the built in GPS for real time turn by turn directions.
-Use the itouch as a modem for a laptop,
-Browse the internet anywhere AT&T/TMO have coverage
-Upload pictures to social networking sites or email photos real-time
-unlimited what you could do

Sign up for 5GB of monthly data for $40/mth, on a month to month contract. I would sign in a minute. I could get rid of my $30/mth AT&T blackberry personal plan that is data only. The only call that can be made is 911.

You mentioned “placeholder” when it comes to created an ad. I have had a couple tell me that these are indeed placeholders but I take rumors with a grain of salt even if they were Apple employees.

If this truly was just a concept, this would explain some of the Photoshop work, why would you spend a ton of time on concept ads. I worked as a creative director and I too know about creating the advertising pieces way before the release of the actual product.
